What Is A Straight Bet?

A straight bet is a bet placed on a single outcome of an event.

A straight bet is the simplest type of pick a punter can make. A straight bet, also known as a “straight pick”, is where you pick one outcome, and one outcome only.

Examples of straight bets are:

Betting on the total of an NBA basketball game.

Betting on an 1X2 market for a EPL match

Taking a tennis player -1.5 sets in a tennis match

A straight pick is when you pick only one of those possible outcomes. If you pick the outcome correctly, then you win. If you pick the outcome incorrectly, then you lose. Yep – it’s that simple!

Payout

Like the wager, the calculation for the payout of a straight wager is super simple!

The payout is equal to:

the amount staked * the decimal odds

If you don’t use decimal odds when betting but would still like to calculate your payout manually, check out our odds conversion formulas or the odds converter.

Our bet calculator also accepts american, fractional and decimal odds so you can see the payout of your straight wager without any conversions at all!
