Optimal Bet Review: August 2026

Most +EV apps want you inside their app. Optimal now hands its data to yours. Optimal AI, currently in beta, pipes the app's odds, projections, and game logs into Claude, ChatGPT, Perplexity, and other MCP clients, so you can ask a question in plain language and get Optimal's numbers back without a screenshot or a copy and paste.

That is an unusual move for a tool priced at $99.99 a year. When I ran Optimal's grading screen during an NBA slate, the models flagged which props and game lines carried an edge, and the interface made it clear when to fire and when to pass. Wiring that data into a chat window is a genuine shortcut for bettors who already do their research there.

It is not the deepest tool in every category. Line shopping, prop research, and tracking all trail the specialists, and Optimal AI is still labeled beta across five leagues. For the money it covers a lot of ground, and the seven-day free trial lets you judge the fit before you commit.

What Is Optimal Bet?

Optimal Bet is a positive expected value (+EV) betting app that uses proprietary models to grade player props and game lines, compare odds across sportsbooks, and track your wagers. It covers roughly a dozen sports and leagues and runs on iOS, Android, and web starting at $99.99 per year.

Built by Hergott Technologies for bettors moving from gut-feel plays into data-driven decisions, Optimal packages +EV grading, arbitrage feeds, line shopping, and a member Discord into one subscription. Optimal AI, in beta, also connects that data to Claude, ChatGPT, and Perplexity. A seven-day free trial runs through the iOS and Android apps.

How to Sign Up at Optimal Bet

Getting started is simple:

  1. Visit the website: Head to the Optimal Bet homepage and look for the sign-up or pricing section.

  2. Choose your plan: Review available subscription tiers and pick the one that matches your needs and budget.

  3. Create your account: Enter your email, create a password, and complete the registration process.

  4. Set your preferences: Select your preferred sports and sportsbooks so the tool can personalize your experience.

  5. Start using the tool: Explore the dashboard and features. Most tools offer tutorials or onboarding guides to help you get started.

Key Features for Optimal: August 2026

Optimal Bet has a hand in several different feature buckets. From +EV and line shopping to bet tracking and community, Optimal Bet provides value in several ways. Other sports betting tools may offer more depth, but Optimal does well, including a wealth of features.

Proprietary +EV Algorithms

Optimal uses custom-built algorithms to surface betting opportunities with a mathematical edge, then applies a proprietary grade so you can see which plays the models like most. Moneylines, spreads, and totals now sit in the EV cheat sheet next to player props, with filters for props only, game lines only, or both.

As of this review, Optimal Bet has +EV algorithms for the following sports/leagues:

  • NFL

  • NBA

  • MLB

  • NHL

  • CFB

  • CBB

  • WNBA

  • MMA

  • MLS

  • Golf

  • Tennis

  • College baseball

Parlay Builder

Optimal Bet has a feature that allows users to build model-backed parlays in the app. In the "parlay" tab, you can select two events that Optimal has a high grade on, add them to a bet slip, and see the fair odds of the bet. Game lines can be added to those parlays now too. You can then track the parlay right in the app, though you still have to go to the sportsbook of your choice to place it.

Bet Tracking & Line Shopping

You can track every bet you plan on placing directly in Optimal, though there is no sportsbook sync, so everything goes in manually. Optimal also surfaces the best available number across books, calculates the vig on existing lines, and runs an arbitrage feed for bettors holding accounts at several books. Bet tracking apps are useful for all bettors, so having it built in is a real convenience.

Optimal AI (Beta)

Optimal's newest feature moves its data out of the app entirely. Optimal AI uses the Model Context Protocol to connect odds, projections, game logs, and team history to Claude, ChatGPT, Perplexity, and any other MCP client, with no API key and a setup that takes a couple of minutes. You can ask where two books disagree most on tonight's slate, or have it assemble a parlay from graded plays, and the answer comes back with Optimal's numbers behind it. It is still labeled beta and covers the NFL, NBA, MLB, NHL, and WNBA.

Community & Expert Insights

Optimal Bet runs a members-only Discord where the team explains the reasoning behind graded plays and answers questions. The education angle is a real part of the value here.

Player Prop Research

Projections are the core of Optimal Bet, and the prop research layer sits on top of them. It is not as deep as what the dedicated prop tools offer, but the data is displayed cleanly and the filters are easy to work through. Projected box scores now cover every WNBA and NHL game.

Optimal Bet Pricing & Discount Code

Optimal is available on the App Store for iOS and Google Play Store for Android. Their website is also compatible with various web browsers, allowing you to access the UI on a computer.

Every Optimal+ plan unlocks the same feature set. Only the billing frequency changes:

  • Optimal+ Weekly: $19.99/week

  • Optimal+ Monthly: $49.99/month

  • Optimal+ Annual: $99.99/year

The annual plan works out to about $8.33 a month, which sits well under the $30 to $50 a month many pro +EV tools charge. The short-term plans are priced steeply against it. Two months of monthly billing costs about the same as the full year, and five weeks of weekly billing does too, so those tiers only make sense if you want a burst of access around one stretch of the calendar.

Optimal Bet offers a seven-day free trial for new users through the iOS and Android apps, with no promo code needed, so you can test the models before locking in a year. Click the button to get started.

Optimal Bet Promo Code & Free Trial

Optimal Bet does not run a public promo code right now. The entry point is the seven-day free trial, available through the iOS and Android apps with no code required, and it opens the full app rather than a stripped-down version.

The trial covers the +EV grading system, arbitrage feeds, the parlay builder, player prop research, line shopping, and bet tracking, plus the game lines that now sit alongside props in the EV cheat sheet. Since the $99.99 annual plan is the only tier that beats paying month to month, use the week to decide whether the models fit how you actually bet before you commit to a year. If a code ever goes live, we will update this section, so there is no need to hunt for one elsewhere.

Why Optimal Bet Stands Out

Optimal Bet stands out for how much ground it covers at its price, and for how little friction sits between opening the app and finding a graded play. Not every feature runs as deep as a specialist tool, but the mix is unusual at this tier.

Accessible Path Into +EV Betting

Positive EV betting tools can be overwhelming, and Optimal answers that with clear outputs instead of raw data dumps. The grading system makes it obvious where the models see an edge and where they are telling you to pass, which is the part most new +EV bettors get wrong on their own.

Rare Blend of Affordability and Variety

At $8.33 a month on the annual plan, Optimal Bet covers more ground than competitors charging two to three times as much. From bet tracking to projections to arbitrage, it packs in the core workflows without overcomplicating the interface. Some of those features lack depth, so the tradeoff is real: cheaper, but not every feature is maximized.

Parlay Optimizer

Parlays are popular among sports bettors, and Optimal Bet helps its users build better ones. By showing the EV, recommending units, and displaying the fair odds of the full parlay, it points people toward the version of a bet that actually holds up.

Where Optimal Bet Can Improve

We've alluded to it a few times in this review, but there are ways Optimal Bet can improve. Feature variety is one thing, and feature depth is another. While some features certainly have depth, others are works in progress.

Lacks Niche Customization

Optimal is built for general use, and bettors with niche strategies or sport-specific edges may feel limited. There’s little room for customizing the algorithm’s logic or adjusting filters to fit personal betting styles. Other tools may be a little more expensive or less focused on +EV, but have more customization.

Short-Term Plans Are Priced Hard

The weekly and monthly tiers fill a real gap, but the math is unforgiving. Two months at $49.99 costs about what a full year does, so anyone planning to use Optimal past a few weeks is effectively pushed toward the annual plan. A mid-priced quarterly option would give seasonal bettors a fairer middle ground.

Feature Depth

The models are the main value proposition and they hold up. Around them, the gaps are still there. Bet tracking has no sportsbook sync, so every wager is entered by hand, and prop research trails the dedicated prop tools. Optimal AI is promising but sits in beta across five leagues, so it is not yet a substitute for working in the app. Adding tracker sync would close the biggest of those gaps.

What's New at Optimal (August 2026)

Optimal AI launched in beta: Optimal's odds, projections, game logs, and team history now connect to Claude, ChatGPT, Perplexity, and any MCP client, with no API key or code required. Beta coverage runs across the NFL, NBA, MLB, NHL, and WNBA.

Game lines joined the EV cheat sheet: Moneylines, spreads, and totals now appear alongside player props, with toggles for props only, game lines only, or both. Game lines can be added to parlays or tracked like any other bet.

Projected box scores added for the WNBA and NHL: Optimal now publishes full pregame projections for every game in both leagues.

Weekly and monthly plans are now sold: Alongside the $99.99 annual plan, Optimal+ is available at $19.99 a week and $49.99 a month, so short-term access no longer requires committing to a year.

Recommended Sportsbooks for Optimal Bet

Optimal Bet helps you find bets with positive expected value, so to maximize your edge, you need to have as many sportsbooks as possible. To take advantage of its features during testing, I made sure to have every sportsbook and exchange available to me. Here are the three you need at a minimum.

  • BetMGM: An excellent sportsbook to find +EV bets, BetMGM is a must-have for all Optimal Bet users.

  • Novig: An exchange, Novig often has the best available odds, and they will never limit EV bettors. Novig is an excellent choice for Optimal Bet. Read our Novig review.

  • ProphetX: Another exchange, ProphetX, offers the same benefits as Novig and sometimes better prices, so it is also a must-have for Optimal Bet. Read our ProphetX review.

Is Optimal Bet Legit?

Yes, Optimal Bet is a legitimate +EV betting app operated by Hergott Technologies, Inc., not a picks-selling scheme. It sells access to proprietary models and research, and it is upfront about what those models do and where they fall short.

Subscriptions run through the App Store, Google Play, and the web, so billing is handled by trusted payment rails rather than a manual transfer. The app never holds your betting funds or places wagers for you. It grades opportunities, and you execute at the sportsbook of your choice. The public track record backs it up: Optimal holds a 4.8 star rating across more than 8,000 App Store ratings, and the company says over 250,000 bettors have used the app. The honest caveat is that results still depend on your own line shopping, bankroll discipline, and bet volume, so the app points you toward value rather than guaranteeing it.

Is Optimal Bet Worth It?

Optimal is worth it for bettors building a process. If you are newer to +EV, it is one of the cleaner introductions to data-driven decision making, and the grading system teaches you to read an edge instead of just handing you a play. Between real-time alerts, odds shopping, arbitrage feeds, and built-in tracking, you get the pieces of a disciplined workflow in one place.

Advanced bettors can still pull value from the models, but the limits show up quickly. Niche markets are thin, customization is shallow, and tracking needs manual entry. At $8.33 a month on the annual plan, though, the downside is small even if you only lean on two or three features, and the free trial removes most of the guesswork. If you already run research through Claude or ChatGPT, the Optimal AI beta pushes the value further, since no other tool at this price hands you its projections that way.

Start your seven-day free trial of Optimal Bet. No promo code needed.

Final Thoughts

Optimal still punches above its price tier, and Optimal AI gives it something the pricier tools do not have yet. If you want an affordable path into structured betting research and +EV thinking, it is one of the more credible options worth testing.

Alternatives to Optimal Bet

If Optimal Bet is not the right fit, a few other +EV tools are worth a look:

  • OddsJam: A deeper +EV and arbitrage platform with faster line shopping across 100+ sportsbooks, built for high-volume bettors who need speed over simplicity. Read our OddsJam review.

  • Pick The Odds: Real-time +EV and arbitrage with a lean interface and a strong free tier for bettors testing the waters. See our breakdown of Pick The Odds.

  • Outlier: Player prop research and projections at a depth Optimal does not reach, which matters if props are most of your volume. Read the Outlier review.

Each leans in a different direction, so weigh price against the features you will actually use before you commit.
